Left side - fortified rooms, known as 'miklat' or 'mammad,' that resemble towers, are built next to every entrance of a building. One of them shows a rocket impact mark, that didn't cause much damage. The photo was taken in Sderot, Israel, one of the closest cities to the Gaza border, on 27-10-2023.
It contrasts with a second photo (on the right side) that I took on 01-10-2019 of the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin.
